The Attorneys at Akbar Law Firm are dedicated to the community they serve. Akbar Law Firm recently partnered with Rickards High School to help inspire the next generation of lawyers dedicated to Freedom, Justice, and Respect.
Akbar Law, with the aid of their marketing partners, selected a group of students who expressed interest in pursuing careers in law to participate in a Marvel-themed mock trial event. #Go2Trial day, however, took place over the course of many weeks. After the students were divided into three teams; FREEDOM, JUSTICE & RESPECT, Akbar Law attorneys hosted catered coaching sessions at the high school.
Students were able to learn about each attorney and received personalized help to build their cases for the courtroom. The fun educational event served as an opportunity for the future lawyers to experience a day in the life of an attorney in conjunction with National Bring Your Child To Work Day.
Following weeks of preparation, FSU College of Law was kind enough to allow the use of their mock trial courtrooms for the big day. Students valiantly represented their favorite Avengers in mock criminal cases involving Black Panther, and even a family law themed trail featuring Stark Industries. The passionate presentations by students displayed that Akbar Law Firm attorneys successfully trained and assembled a team of Tallahassee’s finest future litigators.
The team at Akbar presided over the event to score legal arguments presented. They awarded the winners tickets to see Avengers Endgame in IMAX provided by the Challenger Learning Center.
The goal of the event was to inspire students by sharing the challenges of practicing law and how to overcome them. Students were urged not to let anything intimidate them in the course of achieving their ambitions. Attorneys at Akbar Law spent hours sitting with students, tutoring them through the process. Community service, to Akbar Law Firm, is more than surface level as a matter of respect.
